Teams across Huron County rallied on Saturday morning to walk for the Alzheimer Society of Huron County’s annual Walk for Memories. In its 15th year, the walk raised $36,000 countywide, up by $12,000 from last year. In Wingham, the walk was held at FE Madill Secondary School and approximately $12,000 was raised, $4,000 more than last year’s total. Executive director Cathy Ritsema said she’s very “excited” about the success, and the ability to “enhance and expand” current services, including support groups for caregivers and those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease. Pictured is the team Abbe’s Angels starting their first lap through the halls.
