The Wingham Legion Peewee rep team notched a much needed win against Mount Forest Dec. 15 in an exhibition game at home.
After a scoreless first period, Mount Forest quickly netted two goals early in the second period.
The team did not give up but came right back, with Jordan Pham scoring a minute later after some hard work at the net, assisted by Brady MacDonald and Les Irvine.
Dustin Robertson tucked in the second goal on a nifty wrap-around with an assist to Colton Dunn and Irvine, also on the wrap-around assisted by MacDonald, netted number three.
Ryan Gangl, skating up from Wingham’s end, laid a pass on Pham’s stick for the fourth goal.
Mount Forest scored with two minutes to go but MacDonald scored on the empty net to close it out for a 5-3 win.
The team plays Teeswater this Thursday at home and then starts their Silver Stick in Tiverton Dec. 27.
