Lightning wins a pair

On Sunday, Jan. 15, the first place Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA won a pair of home games and ran their league record to 15 wins, two losses and two ties.
On Saturday, Jan. 14, Owen Sound’s Shea Tiley stopped all 17 shots from the London Devilettes, and Port Elgin’s Kelly Gribbons chipped in a pair of goals, leading the Lightning to a 3-0 victory. Sunday’s game saw Saugeen beat the Kitchener Rangers 2-1, with Gribbons picking up her third goal of the weekend and Stephanie Sluys earning the win in net. Ripley’s Laura Irwin kept her goal scoring streak going, picking up a goal in each game, while assists were awarded to Brittany Hymers, Kaitlyn Soers, Kelly Garrow, Lindsey Dales, Hailey Herman and Stacie Vink.
