The Wingham Knights of Columbus Bantam Reps have defeated Beeton three straight to advance to the next round of the OMHA playoffs
Wingham travelled to Beeton Feb. 13 for game one and opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the game with a goal by Tanner Kirkby.
Despite the fast start and another goal by Garrett Davidson in the second period, the Bantams found themselves down by two in the third.
With less than seven minutes left in the game, the team sprung to life with four unanswered goals by Jake Tolton, Bailey Poels and Daniel Kemp with two, to squeeze out a 6-4 victory
Game two was back in Wingham Feb. 17, and it was Josh Stewart who netted the only goal of the first. The second period saw more back and forth action and goals from Garrett Davidson and Stewart who completed the hat trick with his third goal coming with less than four seconds left in the period.
Beeton added two of their own to trail by one, but the 4-3 Wingham lead held up through the third period and allowed Wingham to take a 2-0 series lead.
Game three was played Friday in Wingham and Stewart led the scoring with two while Bailey Poels and Austin Chaffe added singles. Goalie Luke Dailleboust was busy throughout the series, as Beeton out shot Wingham overall
