The Wingham Columbus Centre Novices continued their round robin playoff series this past week, splitting a pair of games.
First on tap were their cross rink rivals, the Wingham Novice #1 team.  After a win and tie against them during the regular season, the Columbus Centre Novices perhaps took things for granted and the Wingham #1 team came out strong.  The Columbus Centre team never quite got their legs moving the way they needed and although the third period was strong and Golley played well in net, the home squad lost 2-0 for their first loss of the playoffs.
Looking to redeem themselves, the team next faced Tiverton at home.  All cylinders were firing in this game and with lots of hustle and a complete team effort from the goalie to the defence to the forwards, they came up with a solid performance and a 2-0 win.
Scoring for Wingham was Koby Martin assisted by Prestin Coultes and Preston Currie on the first goal with the second goal coming from Prestin Coultes assisted by Koby Martin and Mack Mulvey.
The kids next travel to Lucknow and then finish the round robin with Wingham again to see where things stand.
