The Wingham Ninjas U10 soccer team defeated Goderich #2 recently by a 4-1 score as the Ninjas played as a team by passing the ball well.
Chasity Ceasar, Dustin Bakalar, Jordan Pham and Zach Tedesco each scored, the midfields of Samantha Schuit and Diane Klages intercepting passes to help with the win, and Thomas Gangle played strong in goal.
A strong Goderich #1 team put the pressure on the Ninjas leading 2-1 at the half, but after a quick break and talk the Ninjas roared back with five goals to take the 6-3 victory.
Scoring were Ceasar, Tedesco, with Pham and Bakalar getting two each, as Kirsten Reid and Reese Houghton set up picture perfect goals.
Jason, Thomas, and Regan were able to hold off the strong Goderich Strykers in the last half.
Two weeks ago, against a very strong Wingham Gift Chest team, parents and coaches of the Ninjas enjoyed end-to-end plays. The Ninjas scored with five minutes left as Pham split the defence and hit the goal post before getting his own rebound and blasting it past the goalie. Both Wingham teams made their coaches proud.
