Midgets continue round robin

The North Perth Outlaw Midgets lacrosse team continued their round robin against Guelph and Milton last week with a pair of wins.
The Outlaws were at home July 20 versus Milton and came away with a 9-3 win on three goals from Daniel Kemp, two from Bret Harris and singles from Pieter Johnston, Brody Grummett-Nairn, Joel Watson and Garett Stafford.
Picking up assists in the win were Mackenzie Beuermann and Harris with three each, Stafford and Watson each had two and Quinton Eaton had one.
North Perth was up 4-0 after one period and extended their lead to 7-2 after the second before rolling to the 9-3 win.
The Outlaws had two penalty minutes in the game while Milton took 39.
The Outlaws faced Guelph July 22 and came away with a 6-2 win with two goals each from from Harris and Stafford and one each from Nathan Scott-Small, Stafford, and Brody Grummett-Nairn.
North Perth got assists from Kemp, Zach Watson, Beuermann, Grummett-Nairn and Cory Paulitzki.
North Perth picked up eight penalty minutes and Guelph had two as North Perth was ahead 1-0 after the first period and 3-1 after two periods, before putting the game away in the third.
Outlaw coach Doug Kemp said North Perth killed off a full two-minute 5-3 Guelph powerplay in the first period before three goals in the third sunk the Regal’s hopes for victory.
Kemp added Ben Underwood was strong in net again for the Outlaws whose record in the round robin with Guelph and Milton is 2-1.
The last game of the round robin is July 29 in Guelph at 9 p.m.
